
10 teachers were invited to attend the 5th Innovative Teachers Leadershio Award in Cebu City this February 19-21,2010 to present their projects during the 4th Education Expo.Among the finalist are;
1.Maria Theresa P. Pelones, General Santos City High School, General Santos City. She showcase her project entitled KABALIKAT TAYO NGAYONG PASKO: A Community-based Outreach Project using Blog Portfolio. The project is considered as one of the valuable tool in the 21st century that provides deeper understanding of a filipino christmas culture incorporating iterative method of research, reflection and action process. Likewise the project focusses on four areas namely education, environment, livelihood and safety and disaster preparedness. The project tries to draw the community to experience the joy of giving and learning, sharing and posting documented data into the blog to be able to reach out the experiences and learnings they gained from their experiences. Moreover the project provides opportunity for the students to create, innovate and share as well as develop creativity, skills in research, writing and communication ability, enhances social, moral and environmental awareness
2. Edwin Engana, Benigno Aquino HS, Makati City. His project is entitled Radiation Risks and Benefits.The project is designed to have collaboration with other teachers teaching with other subject areas by utilizing technology and social networking. It goes beyond the premises of the school since they also involve the parents and the barangay.This study highlighted collaboration with other subjects, provide independent learning through internet resources and interactive CD, use of field robotics in teaching and involvement of school community and barangay in the advocay of Global warming and waste management.
3. Gemma Vergara, Panabo NHS, Panabo City with the project entitled Guided Science Investigatory Projects.
4. Adonairam Basingan, BCNHS Sto Thomas Annex,Baguio City with the project entitled Advertising Indigenous Products.
5. Dareen Corpuz, ICEHS, Sta Filomena Iligan City taking a project entitled Second law of motion on Acceleration.
6. Cherrie Anne Baguio, Jolencio Alberca ES, Digos City with the project Turo-turo sa Klase (Multipoint in Class)
7. John Ryan dela Cruz, ICNHS Tambacan Annex, Iligan City. His project is entitled On Writing an application letter
8. ALbert Wade, ICEHS Sta Filomena Iligan City with a project entitled Beta Decay
9. Ma. Celine Calado of Muntinlupa NHS, Muntilupa City talks about Cross Cultural Understanding through Forum
10. Vilma Ambat, BCNHS, Baguio City deals with a project entitled Mobile Learning: Anytime, anywhere

Home of the Maleku tribe, the reserve's tree forest has been depleted in recent years due to cattle farming and a rubber-tree war. The tree-planting mission is part of a larger goal to reverse deforestation and curb global warming in Costa Rica. By planting some 35,000 trees, roughly 6,930 tons of carbon dioxide will be absorbed from the Earth's atmosphere throughout the trees' lifetime.
