Armed with adept hands, the contestants from differrent schools and agencies show their skills during the e-competition.General Santos City (GSC) Local Government Unit (LGU) with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) initiated the activities for the celebration of e-business week held at KCC Mall, General Santos City on Oct. 26-30.
The celebration aimed to promote IT-enabled services to proliferate in the area. This supports the national government’s thrust especially in encouraging more investments and creating more job opportunities in the field of e-services, which implies an endorsement of e-learning.
It had e-competition on Web Page Development, IT Quiz Bee, Speed Typing, Game Skills, Programming and 3D CAD Graphics Design, Poster Making and Billboard Design Making. Thus, it encourages highly skilled human resources in Mindanao, to take advantage of the opportunity that would give recognition to their talents and skills. At the same time it promotes the spirit of competition which pushes professionals to excel in their field of disciplines. Moreover, it intends to discover talented IT individuals to jumpstart their careers.
Besides, there were other ICT related activities such as; free Tech-Talk conveyed throughout the week, Forums on Gaming, Animation, Digital Engineering Design, Setting a Call Up Center and Enterprise Resource Planning. Conjointly, adding color to the celebration were the ICT Exhibit and the e-Job fair.
