SY 2008-2009

I.INFRASTRUCTURE

- Upgrading of 15 PCs funds taken from regular collections……… P74,000.00

- Additional 17 computer units from Cargill Philippines Incorporated.

- Sustenance of Internet Connection

- Sustenance of Computer Maintenance & Basic Operational expense

 

II. RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

1. Students Development

1. IT Enrollment

- Increase enrollment of IT students from 780 students to 1200 students

- Additional IT program to other curriculum

i. was extended to Special Program in the Arts opened specialized course in Media Arts with 34 students from 1^st year and 2^nd year.

ii. Extended IT programs in the Alternative Learning System (ALS)

2. Clubs and Organization

- Organized student’s IT club “TSOCC” dated July 23,2008 at Heroes Park, General Santos City High School campus.

- Organized student Web page development group together with other partner schools and other NGOs.

3. Utilization of Learning Guides

- Sustenance of classroom activities using learning guides to selected teachers

i. Math – all year levels

ii. Science – all year levels

iii. English – all year levels

4. Utilization of E-assessment and e-examination

- Sustenance of the utilization of e-examination and assessment in IT classess all year levels

5. Seminar Workshops & Trainings

- Conduct Seminar Workshop on Computer Skills Enhancement on Photo Editing and Tarpauline Making Participated by 40 students at CyberEd building dated August 16 & 23 2008 funds taken from Regular IT collection.

- Conduct Seminar Workshop on Computer Skills Enhancement on Webpage Designing and Photo Editing. Participated by 40 students at CyberEd building dated Nov.4, 2009 funds taken from Regular IT collection

- Conduct On-the-Job Training to all 4^th Science Curriculum students in various establishments and companies in General Santos City which were participated by 81 students last December 21,2008 to January 5,2009.

6. Competitions and Participated Events

- Organized 20 competing teams for the National SMART DPSA Learning Challenge started last August 2008 both in Third year and Fourth Scicurr students under 7 categories deadline of entries will be on January 23,2009. 100% accomplishment on web page development and study form entries.

- Participated and Won in the SOCSARGEN IT CHALLENGE 2009 last September 4-6,2009 garnering 7 awards.

- Participated and won in the Regional STEP Competition at October 27-30,2008 at Koronadal City National High School

- Participated and won in the National STEP Competition last November 17-21,2008 at Baguio City

- Won 3^rd Place in the AMA Computer College “Clash of IT Wizards” at Laurel Street, GSC last November 21,2008 participated by Loulle Jay Padao

- Participated and won in the regular National SMART Gimik online Competition log on to ( http://www.smartschools.ph for details)

National Standing (2^nd Quarter) – 3^rd Place

- Awarded as Best Website of the Month for the Month of December 2008.

- Two of our entries won in the National Pasko Sa Amin TV online video competition last January 12,2009.

- Attended the Training Workshop for Year II Implementation of the Career Pathways in the Enriched Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Program for General High Schools held at the DECS ECOTECH, Cebu City on May 12-16,2008 participated by Jerose Cabarubias and Maria Theresa Pelones.

- Conducted a Division-wide ICT Integration Seminar-Workshop for Trainers dated May 12-16,2008 with 42 participants supported and funded by Microsoft Philippines Incorporated.

- Attended the Web-based Community Mapping Tools Workshop last May 19-20,2008 at UIC DAvao City. Participated by Maria Theresa Pelones, Melanie Daan and Randy Saing.

- Conducted a Divisionwide 3-weekend ICT Integration Training for Secondary Teachers dated July 26,2008, August 2 and August 9,2008 participated by 30 Elementary teachers and 40 secondary teachers funded by Microsoft Philippines and Local Government Unit of General Santos City

- Conducted a 2-day Seminar-Workshop on ICT Foundation for Principals and School Heads participated by 30 Elementary and 42 Secondary Principals dated August 4-5,2009 at CyberEd, General Santos City High School funded by Microsoft Philippines and Local Government Unit of General Santos City

- Conducted a Divisionwide Regional Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Seminar Workshop on August 13-15,2008 at CyberEd Building, General Santos City High School participated by 50 HR Personnel funded by General Santos City Division.

- Presented the Project ALERT in the National ICT Congress, by Maria Theresa Pelones as the author and Angelito Llanos as the co-author at Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City last September 10-11,2008 funded by MOOE, FitEd (see http://www.gschs.com for details )

- Attended the training on Mindanao-wide SMART Schools Program 21^st Century Leadership Training by Maria Theresa Pelones at Hotel Margarita, Davao City dated November 26-28,2008

- Attended The National Educators Congress by Victorino Fuentes and Angelito Llanos at Baguio City dated December 3-5,2008.

- Attended the Briefing for the Intellectual Property Right by Maria Theresa Pelones, Melanie Daan, Zayrel Delos Reyes and Valentin Loable last November 19,2008 at Phela Grade Hotel, GSC sponsored by DTI and IPAS SARGEN.

- Attended the 2-day Trainors Intellectual Property Rights by Maria Theresa Pelones and Dr. Estrelieta Tenizo last December 17-18,2008 at Phela Grade Hotel, GSC sponsored by DTI and IPAS SARGEN.

3. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

- Sustenance of classroom activities using Learning Guides in English, Science and Math

- Sustenance of Career Pathways Piloting Program for Year I and Year II

- Sustenance of Utilization of e-examination and assessment in IT subjects.

- Additional Programs for Special Program in Arts for Media Arts Year I & Year II

- Tapped community linkages and adopt a school program in the improvement of school website

4. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

· Host the encoding of Regional RAMSE Results dated December 1-12,2008.

· Host the encoding of Divisionwide HRIS encoding

· Open the cyberEd and other Computer Laboratories for educational research

· Open the Audio Visual Room for Conferences, Meetings, Film Viewings and other Activities or Events.

· Offers Basic Short Term courses to Alternative Learning System

· Engage in Community Immersion activities like Doon Po Sa Amin Learning Challenge, On-the Job Training, Database Development and Video Editing

· Engage in Adopt a School Program with Local IT Schools, Funding Donors, BEAM, USAID, SMART, FitED, NICC, Cargill
