ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

Project A.L.E.R.T.

(Advancing Learning using Electronic and Relevant Technologies)

SY 2007-2008

( As of June 2007 to March 6, 2008)

The effective use of information Technology as a tool in General Santos City High School through Project ALERT has enrich the nature of teaching and learning in no small way by improving the quality of basic education in the Philippines. Project ALERT provides opportunities for ongoing professional development of teachers in an environment where financial and geographic barriers exist through an effective, on-going training in modern pedagogical theories and practices. It also extends the access to quality teaching and learning resources materials readily available to both teachers and student, provide opportunities for learning, designing and developing them in controlled manner and collaborate with others. Project ALERT is now on its 2^nd year of operation

I. ICT Infrastructure: this represents the procurement and establishment of e-learning facilities like hardware, software, local Area Network, Wide Area Network and World Wide Web. Including the repair and maintenance of the unit and buildings.

4. Target : Installation of Surround- sound system

Accomplishment: (100% accomplishment)

· Acquired 1 complete set of Surround –system radio from SY2006-2007 Graduating Class worth Php 75,000.00

5. Target : Upgrading of 20 Computer units at SHEEP Computer Laboratory & PSE+PBSP

3. Target :Conduct a 2-day Training on Visual Basic and Database Programming

Accomplishment:

The course is integrated in their lessons, 58 students are trained

Accomplishment: (100% accomplishment)

53 Fourth Year Science Curriculum students undergone On-the-Job Training and System Analysis Study dated December 21,2007 to January 4,2008.

7. Target: Conduct a school based 3-day ICT Graphics Exhibit and IT Challenge

Accomplishment: (100% accomplishment)

· 400 students who are taking computer classes were able to attend and participate in Computer Graphics Exhibit: the Flaunting of Craft Innovations sponsored by TSOCC with the theme Innovating Technology through special abilities at Taiwan Hall, General Santos City dated February 19,2008.

· 1000 students attended the Technology Talk sponsored by AMA Computer Learning College, DTI-Gensan and Regional ISA dated February 19,2008 with the following topics

o Introduction on the ICT Industry/ Latest Trends & Approaches – Pres. ISA XII, Marjorie Cartojano

o Computer Graphics & Animation – ACLC College
